Reviewing Applications

Once submissions have been processed by the platform, your team can review them and make decisions. This page walks through how to read a report, what each section means, and how to approve or reject an application.

Role Can view submissions Can approve/reject
Admin Yes Yes
Reviewer Yes Yes
Viewer Yes No
Mentor No No

Go to your cohort and click the Submissions tab. You’ll see a list of all applications for that cohort.

Use the filters at the top to narrow down what you’re looking at:

  • Status — filter by pipeline status (Complete, Processing, Pending, Failed)
  • Review status — filter by decision (Pending review, Approved, Rejected)
  • Fit score — filter by score range
  • Strength — filter by strength band (Strong, Promising, Unclear, Weak)
  • Eligibility — show only applications that passed or failed guard rail checks
  • Sector — filter by industry

Click any submission to open the full detail view. The page has two parts:

The top of the page shows the platform’s analysis:

Business summary — A 2–3 sentence summary of the idea, written by the platform from the applicant’s answers. A quick way to understand what the business does before you read the full application.

Scores — Clarity, Fit, and Strength scores displayed clearly. Each is out of 100 (or 5 for Strength). See How Applications Are Reviewed for what each score means.

Fit dimensions — The breakdown of the overall fit score into your specific criteria (e.g. “Founder-Market Fit: 82/100, weight: 40%”). This tells you why the overall fit score is what it is.

Guard rail flags — Any eligibility flags raised during processing, listed clearly with the specific issue.

Fit reasoning — A written explanation of why this application scored the way it did on fit, referencing your programme criteria.

Scroll down to see the applicant’s full answers to every question on the form. Read these alongside the report — the scores and reasoning are based on these answers.

For each complete submission, the platform generates a Founder Readiness report — a deeper, narrative analysis across 7 sections. This is generated automatically once the main analysis is done.

Section What it covers
Opportunity Snapshot A concise summary of the market opportunity and why it matters now
Founder Readiness Level An assessment of how prepared this founder is to execute
Validation Gaps Where the idea or evidence is weakest and what’s unproven
Support Priority What kind of support this founder most needs if accepted
Programme Fit Recommendation A direct recommendation on whether this founder fits your programme, with reasoning
Programme Team Note A private note for your team — observations that wouldn’t be in an applicant-facing communication
Founder Readiness Story A narrative summary that combines all the above into a cohesive read

Once you’ve read the report, scroll to the top of the page and click either Approve or Reject.

Click Approve to accept the applicant into the programme.

What happens immediately:

  • The submission is marked as Approved
  • The platform attempts to auto-assign a mentor based on the applicant’s industry — if a matching mentor is available (see Mentors), the assignment appears on the submission detail page
  • An approval email is sent to the applicant

Click Reject to decline the application. You must provide a reason — this is included in the rejection email sent to the applicant, so write it as you would want to communicate it directly to the founder.

What happens immediately:

  • The submission is marked as Rejected
  • A rejection email is sent to the applicant with the reason you provided

The cohort Overview tab shows a summary of your pipeline decisions — how many are approved, rejected, and still pending review. Use this to track your team’s progress through the cohort.
